About Me

    Artist Summary

Genres: Dance / Hard House / Techno

    Artist Bio

Vinyl ONLY club DJ - playing Hard House, House (prog/funky/tech), Speed garage, DnB, Jungle and Techno (driving & minimal). (Three deck specialist)
Dance music creator and remixer/producer of House and Techno in most styles (mostly on the harder side).
Loved music and record collecting, from a young age, got my first taste of dj'ing at the tender age of 11 at the local youth club. I mainly played my first musical love of northern soul and ska.
As I got older (1990's), I stated to listen to rave and techno and attended numerous dance events. (The good old days, as any true raver or dj will tell you...remember Orbit anyone?)
In 2001, I was lucky enough to work behind the scenes at Creamfields and another couple of large dance festivals. I was truly hooked on dance music!
I met a bunch of great dj's and friends, when I moved to the east coast of Yorkshire, in early 2002.
I was interested in learning to mix properly and would play and get experience at after-parties; the first lesson was under the great instruction of DJ Casa Mia (GoodGreef/Charlie’s Angels, Ibiza). I also gained knowledge from many other dj friends, mainly Jester G, a great hard trance dj.
I purchased my own decks in the same year and began to forge my own style and sound...
I was already involved in local dance events (set-up/promotion/back stage etc..), which enabled me to meet some great dj's, I additionally performed live light shows for many events and dj’s, including Rob Tissera, The Thophy Twins, Paul Maddox, Shan, Casa Mia, Mis'behavin, Adam Sheridan, Housewife’s Choice...Alex Kidd... plus many more and went to some crazy after parties (I held a few famous ones of my own!!). Simply watching these guys, taught me a lot about dj'ing to a live crowd (nothing like dj'ing at home!)
After countless hours of late night practices and playing at partys, friends etc.., my 1st 'real' gig was xmas eve 2003 at a night called Submission (I played before Swag from Northern Uproar)...That was it, I was truly addicted to dj'ing and just wanted to get better and better, I started to be noticed by other dj's and promoters.... I went on to play a many great dance events... I played as head-resident at club Sigma and organised/played at many epic nights there.
I have been lucky enough to continue playing over the years at numerous clubs/dance events. Some that come to mind are: Sessions with Ministry of Sound DJ Martin Doorly, Sigma, Vivas, D ‘Fusion (Edinburgh), Plato 68 (Spain) ,C1t1zen, Under-Ground, Denial, Midnight Club, Hard House Madness, Back to the Old Skool, Luna, CheekyMonkey, to name a very few. In addition, a few VIP and celebrity private parties and launches...
I am a great believer that vinyl dj'ing is the only real way to play and continue to only play vinyl at my sets. This always goes down well and is now seen by some, as quite a rare thing, as most dj's use pc's and cd's..OK, but a lot of the work is done for you. Sorry, but not really my cup of tea. I will stick to my vinyl. I love seeking out rare stuff, promos, demo's etc... I play a lot of imports and always try to play tunes the crowd will not have heard before, I must have a good ear, as a lot of my tunes become very popular months (sometimes years) following my first plays...I am not afraid to try new things and always make my sets as fresh and exciting as I can.
I also love music creation and production, mainly making house and techno (normally on the harder side). Please comment...ta
