So we've had a lot of changes on the site since I pretty much took over running the site (Psilo is technically still involved.. helps pay for some things, etc.) But I've mostly been running it from a technically standpoint for i think about a year now. And I made a lot of changes. Most of which I felt were positive ones. But what didn't work? What did you like better before the changes? Is there anything confusing about the site navigation or whatever that i might be able to change? What could I/we add to the site content that might attract more people?

And do you still like the name of the website? I know it goes a long way with nostalgia. But I think newer people may not be attracted to it or get it.. or remember it when told lol. Just an idea. I know a name change has helped some sites. But that's just a thought as well. I'm afraid changing the name might lose some of the magic. But I'm open to discussion!

I think the one thing that's confusing some people is logging in with the, I believe, the rave plur skin. Seeing as the log in bar is at the bottom of the page. I honestly wouldn't want the name changed, but that's just because I've been around since pretty much the start and have grown use to it.

I know that I was just talking to Debbie the other day about getting back out there and taking pics/pushing promo of the site and how we need to update the business cards with the watermark logo we have now. As for promo, she said that we should look into getting rubber bracelets with the name put on them (like the way Event Vibe has been doing)......which isn't a bad idea, we (photographers) can hand them out with the business cards.


Also, we should probably bring back the music sub-forum. Just so the general part doesn't get overrun by the latest uploads.

I added a link on the "guest message" thing that shows at the top of the page when you are logged out. So now no matter what skin you use, it should be easier to find at the top of the page.

I think there should be a seperate section to post mixes and shit cuz that's pretty much all that's on the main page of the forums and not that I don't like those threads, I'd rather not have to sift through all of those threads

Ya that's the way it was but when we dropped down to like 1 post a day it made sense to combine all the forums into one. Not enough activity to justify so many forums. If it picks up, I'll be more than happy to add back some of the forums.

yeah, i kinda agree the name change could help, but if it doesnt, what then? we loose the one thing that kept people comign back. we need a edge, something unique. this is jsut another message board riding in the wake of FB

The only problem with every board is pretty much Facebook. it killed every board on the internet except for the biggest ones (somethingawful, techy boards, really specific game boards, etc). We are pretty much on par on Alexa with most rave boards that have ever been created that are still around. Bayraves is #1 and SDR is a distant #2 in the USA. Sucks ass, but hey, we have more traffic than ravelinks, so something is really fucked up.

Name change would be good but we'd have to figure out where to go. 4ravers.com is totally 100% not available and ive been checking and talking to the guy every month for years, he wont give it up. And this .fm domain is problems because it costs $100 a year to renew and that time is coming quickly. Crap!

Either way, not going down, and you can thank Trancehed that we're still going without viruses and have new software! thx man!

Ya it's been running a little slower lately. I haven't worried about it too much since there hasn't been much traffic. There's a new version of the forum software out tho that I'll probably install in the next week or two. Hopefully that will fix it.. I know it's supposed to optimize some things. If not i'll try and pin it down another way.
