From the DJ..

This mix comes a little later than expected. Last month got quite busy and I never got a chance to finish a mix for April as well. Although its labeled March it is a bit of April as well. It went through many changes but theirs alot of amazing songs I decided to hold back for now because I've been working on some very special mixes that I'm holding just the right songs for.

I wanted this mix to represent a sort of gateway into the summer thats just around the corner. A very nice and calm mix that will accompany everyone on their drives while the sun is nice and bright.

First up is a very nice and lush take on Depeche Modes Barrel Of A Gun. Done by Underworld no less. It's a very great way to warm things up.

Sneaking in is a Ewan Pearsons remix of Foals Olympic Airwaves. A very nice energetic song thats got a nice melodic touch to it. Something I think everyone will move their heads too.

Keeping things on the melodic side yet still grooving is a little mashup of two songs I very much enjoy. Shur-I-Kan's Gripper and Aurora's Dreaming (Goldtrix Lullaby Remix). This came together better than I thought it would. It still needs a few tweaks and then I'll have a version of it up for download. Until then hope you guys enjoy and all feedback is welcome.

Hideo Kobayashi is one of my favorite producers and I've been dying to get a tune in the right place of one of my mixes and this seemed to be perfect. The strings really pick up where Gripper leaves off and I think you guys will really enjoy this transition. Chikum is definitely the kind of song I love to hear when relaxing on the beach when the sun is going down.

I found this next little gem after digging around through Beatport. Tim Andresen with Far Away. I love the vocal samples and synth stabs that keep building along that grooving bassline. Very enjoyable track and again something the really screams summer days. Coming in right after is a track along the same style. Its a remix of Jody Wisternoff's Starstrings by Moussa Clark. Just the kind of progressive house I really enjoy. It's got a nice piano and guitar playing subtely during the breakdown and just really makes me feel at peace.

Picking things up a bit is another track I found through Beatport. Its the Urban Breathe remix of Liluca Clear Senses. A great peaktime track in my opinion. The bassline really roars and the kick is strong enough to really kick you in the ass when it's thrown back in. I look forward to using this live as soon as possible.

Wrapping things up on the dance side of the mix is a very melodic mix of Vibrasphere's Erosion. The Analog Tape mix is very smooth and subtle in its build which really works perfectly for ending this mix. I found this through a fake Sasha set on Tranceaddict not too long so cheers to whoever created that set!

As Erosion fades out I brought in a nice little upbeat tune by Electrelane titled Gone Under Sea. Beautiful guitar strings accompanied by french vocals was a nice way to start closing off the mix. Right after is a very relaxing song by Sufjan Stevens titled Romulus. Very interesting lyrics so definitely take a close listen and enjoy.
